Cornell Cares Day at
Deep Cut Gardens
June 3, 2023
CCMO celebrated Cornell Cares Day at Deep Cut Gardens Open House in Middletown, NJ on Saturday, June 3rd. This annual worldwide event connects Cornell alumni, parents, and students engaging them in hands-on service projects within their local communities.
Led by CCMO Directors Polly Chu and George Schildge, a dedicated group of 17 volunteers came together to make a positive impact. They performed demonstrations and conducted children’s activities including pot painting, plant potting, bird house building, and hummingbird feeder crafting.
The enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteers were greatly appreciated by Tanya Dinova, Monmouth County Park Ranger and Naturalist. She expressed her gratitude for the volunteers' time and efforts, while also expressing her joy that everyone had the opportunity to discover and appreciate the rich history and beauty of Deep Cut Gardens.
It was an ideal day to explore the park’s magnificent 54-acre horticulture displays, as the rose garden was in full bloom during the Open House Day. To learn more about Deep Cut Gardens, interested individuals can contact the park at 732-671-6050 or visit their website.
