Cornell Cares Day
January 9, 2016

This year's Cornell Cares Day was held at the OASIS Farm Center, a vocational training facility for young adults with autism, in Middletown.

Cornell volunteers heard a brief introduction about Project OASIS (Ongoing Autistic Success in Society) and information about their students before engaging in the activities. A tour of the farm was given at the end. CCMO also donated 4 adult coloring books with 96 gel pens for the OASIS students.

The inside work involved cleaning and organizing the kitchen cabinets, wiping down the cabinets, countertops, appliances, kitchen table and floor. Also we did the cleaning of the downstairs bathroom including the bathtub, sink, toilet and floor.

The outside work involved cleaning the feeding bowls for the goat house, turning and moving compost into the garden, and putting pavers around the flower beds in the garden.
