Cornell Cares Day
January 3, 2015
This year's Cornell Cares Day was held at the OASIS Farm Center, a vocational training facility for young adults with autism, in Middletown. We heard a brief introduction about Project OASIS (Ongoing Autistic Success in Society) and information about their students before engaging in the activities. We took down the holiday decorations and tidied up the rooms. We also put together "Cornell Cares Bags" to give students a surprise when they returned from their winter break. The items included hand-written cards, encouraging notes/letters and arts and crafts items created by our volunteers. The Club provided Cornell souvenirs and a toy and a snack for each Cornell Cares Bag. |
