Beach Sweep at Sandy Hook

April 21, 2012

A splash of RED and fog burning off at Sandy Hook National Recreation area.

Our Club participated in the 27th Annual Spring Beach Sweeps, organized by New Jersey's Clean Ocean Action. The beach cleanup was preceded by a call to action from Clean Ocean Action's Executive Director Cindy Zipf.

The Sweep put thousands of New Jerseyans to work and covered the length of the shore -- 127 miles. Our group collected trash from a beach section facing Sandy Hook Bay. You'd never believe how much fun trash collection can be until you've bagged with fellow Cornellians.
