Beautiful year-round, Holmdel Park is a 566-acre gem in northern Monmouth County. A large group of alumni, parents, friends and a dog gathered at the park on an unseasonably mild winter day. We hiked up and down hills, around a lake and through the woods while chatting with fellow nature lovers.

We'll try this again next winter, though beginner's luck, weather-wise, is unlikely to strike twice.
